Susan Philpott heads the firm's pension and benefits practice and is recognized as a leading practitioner in the area by Best Lawyers in Canada. She has an extensive background representing trade unions, employees, retirees and pension funds from both the public and private sectors in all aspects of their labour relations and employee benefit needs. Her clients rely on her skills as a problem-solver, and her ability to find solutions in a fast and cost-effective way. Her advice is sought on trusteed and non-trusteed pension and group insurance plans, pension surplus arrangements and other benefit fund concerns, in addition to all kinds of workplace disputes.

At ease as a litigator, Susan appears in court and before a wide variety of administrative tribunals including the Financial Services Commission and Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and public and private arbitration panels.

Susan is the Past President of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, and consulting editor of the Lancaster House Pension and Benefits E-Bulletin. She speaks regularly at client and professional seminars, including the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society's Continuing Legal Education program. She has been a guest lecturer on pension law at the University of Western Ontario and labour law at Ryerson University, and has authored articles in numerous legal and benefits-related journals.
