An accomplished advocate for trade unions, Stephen Wahl has championed labour interests in all sectors of the economy - from construction to manufacturing, and from the public service to the airline industries.

Steve has built an outstanding reputation for his effective counsel on behalf of trade unions before both the Ontario and Canada Labour Relations Boards in the acquisition and retention of bargaining rights, in unfair labour practice proceedings and related employer and sale-of-business matters.

In addition, Steve represents trade unions in the administration of collective agreements, both in grievance arbitrations and judicial review proceedings. His expertise is also recognized in the areas of employment standards, occupational health and safety, employment insurance and workers' compensation. He is a recognized leader in bankruptcy and insolvency employee/collective bargaining representation to the Supreme Court of Canada level.

Steve is a frequent writer and lecturer on labour law issues for the trade union community, professional, academic and continuing education groups including lecturing on Industrial Conflict in the Masters of Law Programme at Osgoode Hall Law School.

A long-time contributor to the work of the Labour Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association - Ontario, Steve has brought his advocacy experience and remarkable interpersonal skills to all aspects of its executive, including the position of Chair.
