Roberto Tomassini provides legal advice and representation to employees, unions, plan administrators, and trustees on pension and benefits issues. He served on Koskie Minsky's team in the successful court action by seven former National Hockey League (NHL) employees to obtain the return of more than $40 million in pension surpluses and interest from the NHL and the NHL Pension Society. In addition to his pension and employment benefits practice, Roberto advises clients in employment and labour law issues, and has represented union clients in labour arbitration, and before the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Roberto worked on the writing and editing of the second edition of Employee Benefits in Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute, International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the Canadian Bar Association - Pension and Employee Benefits Section. Active involvement in publications and associations related to his field of expertise demonstrates Roberto's interest in continuous learning. |
