Ernie Schirru is a true devotee to labour and employment law
who provides timely and sound legal advice to his clients. Prior to joining
Koskie Minsky in 2003, Ernie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Labour
Studies from Brock University and his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Ernie is a member of the Koskie Minsky's Labour
Group, and regularly provides legal advice and representation to industrial,
public service and construction trade unions on a full range of labour
relations matters including the acquisition and maintenance of bargaining
rights, unfair labour practices, discipline and discharge, grievances arising
under collective agreements, human rights issues, employment standards, health
and safety, workplace injuries and collective bargaining. Ernie is also a
member of the firm's Employment Law Group providing legal advice and
representation to non-unionized employers and employees on a wide variety of
employment and human resource related issues and litigation.
