We are pleased to report that the terms surplus sharing proposal (the
"Proposal") were approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial
List) on June 24, 2008. Details of the Proposal were provided in a report sent
to members on May 31, 2007 ("Member Report 2"), which can be viewed by
clicking here. Next, an application to the OSFI will be submitted, in
order to receive regulatory approval for the Proposal.
Koskie Minsky LLP was retained by a Committee of
former employees of Royal Oak (please
click here to read the initial report sent to affected members). The
Committee was formed with a mandate of advocating for a distribution of the
surplus funds, and commenced negotiations to obtain a fair and equitable share
of the surplus between Royal Oak and all members of the Royal Oak Mines Inc.
Pension Plan for Yellowknife Salaried Employees (the "Plan"). This website has
been developed by Koskie Minsky LLP for the
exclusive use of former members of the Plan who are entitled to share in a
proposed distribution of surplus funds in the Plan.
