Koskie Minsky LLP commenced a class action lawsuit
against the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Board (the "OMERS Board") on
behalf of certain individuals who participated in the Ontario Municipal
Employees Retirement System (the "OMERS Plan"). The lawsuit concerns the
transfer of benefits from the OMERS Plan to another pension plan under the
Multi-Lateral Portability Agreement (the "Agreement") in respect of individuals
who terminated their membership in the OMERS Plan after January 1, 2000. The
Agreement provides for the transfer of pension benefits between the large
Ontario public sector pension plans that participate in it.
A settlement of this action has been reached. Justice Cullity of the Ontario
Superior Court of Justice has approved the settlement and issued an Endorsement
and an Order, which you may access via the Court Documents link at the left
side of this page. The Order includes three notices that have been
court-approved, and are being sent to people who are affected by the
settlement, and those who previously received a notice concerning the
