Commercial Litigation
Koskie Minsky’s Commercial Litigation Group has an established reputation as a leader in commercial litigation throughout Ontario. Recognising that litigation can be costly and time-consuming, our Group is committed to providing proactive and prompt advice in order to reach the most efficient, cost effective and timely resolution. Other solicitors frequently refer such clients to us as acknowledgement of our litigation expertise.
Our legal counsel represents professional bodies and institutions, businesses and individual clients. Group practitioners are equipped to manage litigation for the full range of commercial litigation matters, including partnership disputes, income tax and real property issues. We also are qualified to assist as counsel to a client’s current lawyer.
Our team of litigators has extensive experience at all levels of the Ontario Courts, both trial and appellate, and before public and professional tribunals. We are not only strong advocates, but also actively promote alternate dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration.
Group members continue to build on their reputation as skilled counsel. To this end, our Group encourages participation in continuing legal education to ensure our practitioners persist in gaining knowledge and enhancing their qualifications. Our lawyers are frequently invited to speak at lectures and seminars, including the Law Society, Bar Admission Course and the Ontario Bar Association. We participate in professional forums such as the Insurance Institute of Ontario, the Certified General Accountants Association and the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association.
We are frequently consulted by authors and reporters for accurate, topical information related to litigation matters.
We ensure that clients are fully informed and involved throughout the litigation process. Programs and seminars are held for clients to maintain awareness of current developments in commercial litigation and how it affects business.
