Michael Mazzuca

Michael Mazzuca is a partner in the Pensions and Employee Benefits Group of Koskie Minsky. He provides legal advice to boards of trustees of MEPPs and other jointly governed plans, trade unions and plan member groups across Canada concerning plan administration, fiduciary duties and plan governance.
Michael represents clients before all levels of court across Canada, often in class actions or other legal proceedings involving pension surpluses, fiduciary duties and pension fund investments. He represents clients before the Ontario Financial Services Tribunal and other pension regulators on matters relating to statutory and regulatory compliance, including partial wind-ups and funding requirements for multi-employer pension plans (MEPPs).
Michael is an adjunct professor at the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Law, a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Ontario Financial Services Tribunal, a former Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Pension and Benefits Section, current executive member of the Canadian Bar Association Pension and Benefits Section, instructor for the International Foundation of Benefits' Advanced Trustee Management Standards Program, Executive Member of the Multi-Employer Benefit Plan Council of Canada, and a regular speaker at conferences on pensions and employee benefits.
