As Head of the Litigation department, Jeffrey Long manages a dynamic practice specializing in commercial and construction litigation. His unrelenting delivery of effective and efficient legal counsel ensures client goals and objectives are met with success.
Jeffrey is a senior member of the firm's Construction Law Group. In
that role, he represents many of Ontario's largest builders, numerous
general contractors, banking institutions, subcontractors, trade unions
and employee benefit trust funds. His experience includes carriage of
major construction and complex construction lien litigation.
Jeffrey also manages a dynamic general commercial litigation practice focussed on plaintiff's claims, shareholder disputes and injunctions. He has accumulated extensive experience in trial advocacy, appeals, negotiations and dispute resolution relating to shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate development and a multitude of complex commercial matters.
A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and practicing since 1992, Jeffrey has conducted seminars and spoken on various construction topics at the CBAO and other construction industry events. He has written the current Construction Law Bar Admission Course materials, contributed to commercal litigation journals and authored the "Summary Judgment and Collection Procedures" chapter for the book Common Civil Applications in Ontario.
